Buddha's Wisdom: Choosing Peace Over Anger
Once, Buddha was approached by a man who was filled with anger and hatred. The man shouted insults and hurled verbal abuse at Buddha, expecting a reaction. Instead, Buddha remained calm and unaffected. The man, perplexed by Buddha's serenity, asked why he remained composed despite the insults.
Buddha responded with a question: "If someone offers you a gift, but you refuse to accept it, to whom does the gift belong?" The man replied, "It would still belong to the person who offered it."
Buddha smiled and said, "Similarly, when someone tries to provoke anger within us, but we choose not to react, the anger remains with the one who carries it."
The man realized the wisdom in Buddha's words and was inspired to let go of his anger. This story reminds us that we have the power to choose how we respond to negativity. By practicing detachment and cultivating inner peace, we can overcome the challenges that come our way and find true motivation in life.
